Welcome to the Murphy Road Corridor Study Project Website!

Project Update:

The Refinement Plan was finalized in June 2008. This plan documents the work done throughout this phase of the project, including the results of the open houses and the selection of the two preferred alternatives. It also outlines the recommended actions for the future that the Bend City Council has agreed on. The plan can be downloaded or you can request a printed copy by sending a written request to: Peggy Spencer, City of Bend Public Works, 745 NW Bond Street, 97701, 541-388-5578 or sending an email through our comment form. A complete copy is also available at the Planning/Engineering front desk at City Hall.

This website provides an overview of the planning efforts that identified improvements to the Murphy Road Corridor (between 3rd Street and Brosterhous Road), and options to extend Murphy Road on the east to 15th Street. The Murphy Road Corridor Study coordinated with two other studies - the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) led Interchange Area Management Plan (IAMP) for an extension of Murphy Road to the west over the Bend Parkway. The City of Bend Planning Department is leading the Murphy Crossing Refinement Plan which will provide an alignment for Murphy Road's westerly extension from the Parkway to Brookswood Boulevard. The Murphy Road Corridor Study project is led by the City of Bend Public Works Department.

The technical consultant is CH2M HILL. Contact the Project Management Team with any questions that you have or send them your comments electronically. The technical team has coordinated closely with the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the City of Bend Planning Department, and ODOT.

The first phase of the project began in August 2006 and was completed in June 2008 with the final Refinement Plan. See Project Schedule for more details.

The second phase will begin in the fall of 2008 and more information will be added to the website.
